My name is Sarah Lewis and I am a counsellor providing both short and long-term therapy to adults and adolescents in North London and online.
As a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP #00988624) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP #52102399) I abide by the Ethical Framework of the BACP and the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
You can also find me on Psychology Today and London Young Counselling directories.
I studied Law and Psychology at De Montfort ~University . Trained at North West London counselling school and gained my professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling at Chrysalis.
Along with my private clients I work for London Young Counselling where I provide one to one therapy for adolescence.
My journey as a therapist began after working for the NHS. Realising that people need to be heard, I decided to retrain as an Integrative Therapist. This means I use different approaches depending on the individual needs - whether it be a person centered approach or psychodynamic. I have experience of using CBT with clients. Changing behaviours and looking at why we do certain things. Some clients like to have goals to work towards.
The relationship between therapist and client is a collaboration based on trust and having a safe space to talk and share feelings in order to look at behaviours from both past and present.
As a counsellor, my role is to provide space and guidance to help you on your journey of self discovery. I am here to listen without judgement, offering the chance to reflect on difficult problems.
During our sessions, I may use a variety of techniques, including
breathing, visualization and anchoring. Some clients even like to express their feeling though art.

Our session will happen every week and will last for 50 minutes. I offer a 15 minute free consultation. During the initial meeting were we talk about the contract and see if we are compatible, this is a 90 minute session.
I offer face to face and online sessions. Some clients like to have sessions whilst walking. Most of my clients have a minimum of six sessions, and some people require months or even years depending on their situation.
For those clients who do not live in London I also offer online and telephone therapy sessions. Some clients prefer this to face to face therapy. Either option is good, clients feel safe and more importantly heard.
